Both have been included, alongside Spurs team-mate Jermain Defoe, in the England squad to face Slovenia in a friendly on Saturday followed, next week, by the World Cup visit of Croatia. Modric will miss that game after fracturing his right fibula in the 2-1 win over Birmingham, but Spurs could still be well represented. Crouch has yet to start a League game for Spurs but scored his first goal against Doncaster in the Carling Cup and, on Saturday, broke the deadlock in what became Spurs' fourth straight Premier League win. Redknapp said: "I love Crouchy that's why I keep buying him. He was different class when he came on against Birmingham. "That's why England need Crouch, because he's Plan B for England as well in my opinion. He's a player you have to take to a World Cup because he gives you something completely different. "When the game needs changing he can do that even if he's coming off the bench. If you can't play through teams you can go long to him and he gives you a different dimension." According to Redknapp, Crouch has been the ultimate professional while biding his time on the bench. "He's been fantastic," said Redknapp. "Some lads would sit there with a face like thunder and mope around but he doesn't, he's been brilliant." And Redknapp promised that Crouch will soon become part of his plans, beginning with the next two games, against Manchester United and Chelsea, when he added: "He can become Plan A for me, easy. "With that performance it is going to be hard to leave him out of the team, especially when you play against Manchester United and Chelsea. "Against them you need something different in your team to cause them problems."
