Tottenham and England face row over Ledley King

King's chronic knee problem is so severe it means he is unable to play more than one game a week for Spurs and his training is limited. However, such is the 26-year-old's ability to read a game and snuff out world class strikers, Tottenham tolerate King's injury concerns and he is a key member of Redknapp's defence. This, though, incensed Redknapp, who feared King's knee would break down and rule him out for the rest of the season. Capello eventually relented, but the Italian remains a big fan of King and does not believe his international career is over. And now, according to the Sun, Capello will once again risk the wrath of Redknapp by naming him in his squad to face Slovenia on Sept 5 and then Croatia in a World Cup qualifying clash on Sept 9. Another Spurs player set for a recall is winger Aaron Lennon, with Arsenal's Theo Walcott unlikely to be fit for international duty. Lennon, 22, was left out of England's friendly against Holland earlier this month, but with Walcott struggling to overcome a side strain, Capello views the Tottenham midfielder as a perfect like-for-like replacement.
