Constant keen injuries have restricted the England international to under 300 league appearances in that time.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign and he has not yet done enough to earn a new deal at White Hart Lane.
It still seems highly likely that King will sign a new deal with Spurs but as it stands he is set to become a free agent.
