12 August 2013 14:59

The summer transfer window has been one of the busiest periods in recent times in terms of high profile signings and big money moves. However, with the 2013/2014 season just under two weeks away, there are still plenty of deals that could still happen before the window closes on the 2nd of September. Below are ten players that Premier League teams could and should move for this summer from teams outside of the English top flight.

1.

Leandro Damiao = Brazil and Internacional (Brazil)

A long-term target for Tottenham, Damiao was the subject of a bid from Southampton earlier this summer. However, the towering striker looks to be waiting for a better offer. A star of the Brazilian Olympics team, Damiao missed out on the confederations cup through injury but will be looking to make an impression before a world Cup in Rio next summer.

Possible destination = Arsenal or Tottenham

Price = £18 million

2.

Toby Alderweireld = Belgium and Ajax (Netherlands)

A regular international in a talented Belgium side, Alderweireld has been forced to take responsibility over the past few years as he has seen national team mates Vermaelen and Vertonghen leave the Dutch side. English clubs will have to move quickly as Sky Sports reported Spartak Moscow’s interest.

Possible destination = Tottenham, Liverpool or Everton

Price = £9 million

3.

Christian Eriksen- Denmark and Ajax (Netherlands)

One of the most highly rated prospects in European football, and Dutch player of the year Eriksen is extremely well sought after. The skillful midfielder has reportedly told Ajax he will not sign a contract extension and will be leaving.

Possible destination = Tottenham or Liverpool

Price = £15 million

4.

Luis Gustavo- Brazil and Bayern Munich (Germany)

It is no secret that the Confederations cup winner may struggle to break into the starting 11 at Bayern this year. New signings Thiago and Gotze join Martinez and Schweinsteiger in midfield and Gustavo will most likely have to seek pastures new in search of a first team berth.

Possible destination = Arsenal

Price = £15 million

5.

Tom Ince- England and Blackpool (England)

The highly rated son of Manchester United and Liverpool legend Paul, the winger has slowly been making a name for himself and was capped at full International level last term. A move to Cardiff reportedly fell through earlier this window but Ince will be looking to move to an ambitious side.

Possible destination = Tottenham, Liverpool or Cardiff

Price = £6 million

6.

Christian Atsu- Ghana and Porto (Portugal)

Atsu may look to stay at Porto in order to fill the void left by James Rodrigues following a high profile move to big spenders Monaco. However, the rumour mill has been unrelenting and Liverpool are thought to be keen among others.

Possible destination = Liverpool or Everton

Price = £10 million

7.

Willian- Brazil and Anzhi Makhachkala (Russia)

Amidst financial trouble, the chairman of Anzhi has dramatically placed all players up for sale. Willian was a top target for Andre Villas Boas last summer but lost out to Anzhi. Willian will look to have a big season ahead of a home world cup next summer.

Possible destination = Manchester City, Chelsea or Tottenham

Price = £25 million

8.

Adil Rami- Spain and Valencia (Spain)

Unfortunately Valencia have once again encountered financial trouble. As a result, they have been forced into selling Roberto Soldado already this summer and could also lose the highly rated defender Rami also.

Possible destination = Manchester City, Arsenal or Liverpool

Price = £10 million

9.

Erik Lamela-Argentina and Roma (Italy)

A standout performer in Seria A last season, Roma will be unwilling to lose Lamela. However, the recent signing of Gervinho could signal a move away from the Italian Capital. Franco Baldini is a known admirer and would be keen to take Lamela with him to Tottenham Hotspur.

Possible destination = Manchester City or Tottenham

Price = £25 million

10.

Eziqiuel Garay- Argentina and Benfica (Portugal)

Steadily becoming the linchpin of a talented Argentinian team, Garay has been linked to Manchester United for some time now. Benfica have been known to sell their stars in the past but he wont come cheap.
