Marseille president Jean Claude Dassier has ruled out the possibility of selling Taye Taiwo in the wake of reported interest from Tottenham.[LNB] Spurs have been linked with Taiwo for a number of weeks and the Nigeria left-back went on record to say he would be interested in a move to the club.[LNB]However, Dassier has now told the 25-year-old he is staying with the Ligue 1 champions, no matter what promises he may have been given by the former regime at Marseille.[LNB]"It's done. He's staying with Marseille. He's a top player and he should be staying here," said Dassier.[LNB]"I don't know if the old president promised that he could leave, but that's not me."[LNB]Atletico Madrid are reported to have had a bid rejected for Taiwo earlier this summer, while recent speculation suggested Liverpool could also enter the race as they prepare to sell Emiliano Insua to Fiorentina.
