VfB Stuttgart general manager Horst Heldt has revealed that the club could look to replace Mario Gomez with Roman Pavlyuchenko. Germany international Gomez left the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion for a reported £25million to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich last month. It leaves Stuttgart with a large transfer chest and Heldt believes the club could prise Pavlyuchenko away from Tottenham for just £9.5million despite the Russian international spending only one season in the Premier League. The 27-year-old scored a respectable 14 goals in 37 games for Spurs last term following his £13.8million move from Spartak Moscow. However, Pavlyuchenko could find himself surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane with Spurs rumoured to be considering moves for fellow strikers Ruud van Nistelrooy and Diego Forlan. "We are looking for firepower and Roman Pavlyuchenko is a good striker and we have considered his name," Heldt told Stuttgarter Zeitung.
