Steven Pienaar has promised Tottenham fans he will only get better as he prepares to make his FA Cup debut for the club. [LNB]New signing Pienaar was a surprise starter in Saturday's 1-1 Barclays Premier League draw at Newcastle, having only completed his move from Everton four days earlier. [LNB]The South Africa midfielder, 28, was substituted six minutes from time after tiring towards the end of the game but he was pleased with his Spurs bow. [LNB] Raring to go: Pienaar is looking forward to making his mark for Tottenham[LNB]Pienaar started on the left wing at St James' Park, with Gareth Bale dropping back to left-back. [LNB]Bale was forced off after just 11 minutes with a back injury and is a doubt for Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Fulham. [LNB]He may have been rested anyway but his failure to recover would almost certainly see Pienaar keep his place at Craven Cottage. [LNB]Niko Kranjcar would be another option, although there are reports the out-of-favour Croatia star is being lined up by Werder Bremen. [LNB]Pienaar told his club's official website: "It's always a real pleasure to make your debut. I didn't expect it to happen so quickly and I'm now looking forward to playing more games. [LNB]'It was my first training session on Friday. You have to get used to team-mates but we all want to play the same game, so it's quite easy. [LNB]'It's an attacking team and with the players here, we're always going to score goals. [LNB]'I hadn't played for two weeks, so I'm quite happy. I'll only get better.'  [LNB] Keane on brink of West Ham loan as Spurs striker seeks January exit Club-by-club guide to every Premier League transfer deal during JanuaryWatch all the Premier League goals every week on our brilliant video player All the latest Tottenham news, features and opinion[LNB]  Explore more:People: Gareth Bale, Niko Kranjcar Places: Newcastle, South Africa, Croatia
