Steve Bruce is in line to make Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent his first Sunderland signing once he is officially confirmed as the new manager at the Stadium of Light. The former Ipswich and Charlton striker has been a long-term target for Sunderland and new owner Ellis Short will release funds to secure the England international's signature, according to the Daily Mirror.
