Tottenham's plans to redevelop White Hart Lane took another small step forward on Tuesday when they signed a planning agreement with Haringey Council.
The Section 106 agreement, which Spurs signed on Tuesday afternoon, means they have agreed to pay some money towards local facilities in the area around the stadium if they decide to go ahead with plans to stay in the north London borough.
Tottenham want to redevelop White Hart Lane in a site adjacent to the ground in a plan known as the Northumberland Development Project (NDP) but they are also fighting the decision to give West Ham the keys to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.
Spurs were given planning permission to undertake the NDP in October last year but they also want local and central government to contribute towards revamping transport and other facilities around the area - which is one of the most deprived in the capital.
They will now sit down with the council, London Mayor Boris Johnson, and central government figures to see if they can come to an agreement.
A Tottenham statement read: "The club can confirm that the S106 agreement in respect of the Northumberland Development Project has now been completed and planning permissions have been issued.
"This enables discussions with the London borough of Haringey, the Mayor of London and central government to continue as we seek to make the development viable and deliverable.
"As always, we shall keep all our supporters updated as these progress."
