Tottenham face an anxious wait to learn how serious Harry Winks' ankle injury is after he went to hospital for scans on a problem picked up against Burnley.
The England Under-21 international was carried off on a stretcher during half-time of his team's 2-0 success at Turf Moor having appeared to jar his left leg just before the break.
Winks had originally tried to stop Stephen Ward cutting inside from the byline and had pirouetted on his right leg near the touchline before showing immediate discomfort when he put his left foot down.
He rolled into a drinks container next to the Burnley dugout and remained on the ground until after the half-time whistle sounded, at which point he was taken away from the field on a stretcher.
"We're still waiting for him," Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino said after the game.
"He is in hospital now, doing scans. Now we need to wait. We wish it is not a big issue and we hope it's not a big problem for the future for him.
"It's his ankle, he twisted his ankle. We are still waiting for results."
Spurs captain Hugo Lloris went over to Winks to offer his support when the half-time whistle sounded, and added: "We hope it's not too serious."
