Spurs join Naughton race

Tottenham have reportedly joined Everton in the race to sign Sheffield United defender Kyle Naughton. It was believed that Everton had secured a deal for the £5million-rated right-back after the clubs agreed a fee, and reports suggest Toffees officials expected him to head to Goodison Park on Monday for a medical. However, Spurs have now entered the bidding for the 20-year-old and it is understood that his advisors are talking to both clubs. Blades boss Kevin Blackwell has already admitted that Naughton will not play for the side again and he is now lining up a suitable replacement. "We're a good club and we can attract good talent," Blackwell told the Sheffield Star. "People want to come here. "I know that because I had to recharge my phone twice in one afternoon when everyone realised what had happened. All the calls were people trying to recommend someone. "What we've also got to do now is unearth the next Kyle Naughton."
