Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Moussa Sissoko's advisers as they step up their attempts to sign the highly rated midfielder. With Patrick Vieira looking increasingly unlikely to sign, Spurs are keen to snap up the France Under 21 international. Toulouse are reportedly expected to ask a fee in excess of £12 million. Tottenham have also made an approach for Internacional midfielder Sandro, although he would face difficulties obtaining a work permit, and remain interested in Newcastle defender Sebastien Bassong. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: 'I like Bassong he is a young player with a good future.' Tottenham play their final friendly of the pre-season campaign against Olympiakos next Sunday, before taking on Liverpool in their opening Premier League match on August 16.
