Didier Zokora has taunted Tottenham Hotspur by insisting he took a massive step up when joining Sevilla. The Ivory Coast midfielder brought an end to a three-year spell at White Hart Lane when the Spanish side made an £8million move for him in the summer. There weren't too many Spurs fans who were sad to see the back of the 28-year-old, but Zokora says he joined the tide of the best players migrating to Spain. 'I came to Sevilla because it was a big team, who had qualified for the Champions League and who, in the last five years, had proved to be not only among the best teams in Spain, but also among the best teams in Europe,' Zokora told Spanish magazine Don Balon. 'I'm happy and my children are happy in Seville. Everything is perfect here.' Zokora also took a swipe at the English style, claiming the Spanish league was full of flair compared to the bluster of the Barclays Premier League. 'You can't compare Spanish to English football because England is about efficiency and strength, while Spain is more about art and playing well. 'What is clear is that the flow of talent is towards Spain - Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema - because this is the best league right now.' As for the debate on who is the best player in the world, Zokora backs Barcelona star Lionel Messi over Real Madrid's £80million summer signing from Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo. 'They are both great players,' he said. 'Cristiano has shown that he was the best in the world when in England, but I'd go for Messi because he is beautiful to watch and still developing.' Spurs are doing just fine without Zokora, but Sevilla are also impressing, sitting third in the table behind Barcelona and Real Madrid. And Zokora believes his side can challenge for both the Spanish League title and the Champions League this season. 'Madrid and Barcelona are both big clubs that are always up there but if Sevilla are consistent, have a settled squad and can snatch the title. 'In the Champions League, first you have to get to the quarter-finals, but if we overcome this obstacle, we can also fight for the Champions League.'
