Despite some critcism from Spurs fans last season, Adebayor has expressed an interest in moving to White Hart Lane as he seeks some regular first-team football.
Harry Redknapp has been desperate to add a new striker to his ranks during the transfer window and, having missed out on Diego Forlan and Giuseppe Rossi, looks to be close to finally finding a solution.
When asked about the potential signing, Redknapp said: "The chairman deals with that sort of thing at boardroom level.
If anything's going to happen, he'll ring and tell me."I think it has been progressing along. It seems like it probably will happen, but I am not 100% sure."
