Spurs boss Redknapp tells West Ham: I can't help that Gudjohnsen chose us

Ice-cool: Eidur Gudjohnsen snubbed West Ham in favour of a move to high-flying Tottenham Hotspur[LNB]Harry Redknapp has hit back at West Ham after Hammers' new owner David Sullivan accused Spurs of hijacking their deal for striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.[LNB]The former Barcelona star joined Tottenham on loan from Monaco until the end of the season following a medical at White Hart Lane on Thursday.[LNB]But the Icelandic international had been set to join his Chelsea team-mate Gianfranco Zola - now boss at Upton Park - and even underwent part of his medical at the club earlier this week.[LNB]However the 31-year-old decided against the move after receiving a call from Spurs manager Redknapp.[LNB]Sullivan was outraged and said he hoped Spurs got their come-uppance one day but Redknapp said the decision as to which club Gudjohnsen would sign for was down to the player himself and nobody else.[LNB]Don't blame me: Redknapp[LNB]The player joins an attacking line-up which already includes Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko.[LNB]And Redkanpp said: 'He's player I've always admired. He can play several positions and is a very clever footballer.[LNB]'It was his decision to come to us. I rang him and left a message onhis phone and he came back to me and said I want to come to Tottenham.He gives us lots of options. He is a top player.'[LNB] Team-mates: Former Barcelona ace Gudjohnsen could now find himself playing upfront alongside England striker Jermain Defoe (left) at White Hart Lane[LNB]The Tottenham boss also confirmed that Birmingham were in talks for Russian striker Pavlyuchenko but claims he was not desperate to get rid of him.[LNB]He added: 'We're not keen to sell him. We're happy with him.
