Spurs boss Redknapp set to raid Portsmouth for £8m-rated defender Glen Johnson

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has made Portsmouth full-back Glen Johnson a summer transfer target. Redknapp took Johnson to Fratton Park from Chelsea for £4million in January 2007. A squad player at Stamford Bridge, Johnson is now establishing hinmself as first-choice right-back for England under Fabio Capello and was recently named in the PFA Team of the Year. Although Johnson signed a new four-year contract in January, cash-strapped Portsmouth will have to sell some of their prize assets this summer. Having brought Jermain Defoe back to Tottenham from Portsmouth in a deal worth £15.75 million, Redknapp is set to return top his former club to sign Johnson who would probably cost around £8 million.
