Sevilla have completed the signing of Didier Zokora from Tottenham Hotspur. The 28-year-old has signed a four-year contract after the clubs finally agreed on a fee, thought to be about about £7.75million. Talks had dragged on for weeks until the Spanish club stepped up their pursuit by sending club president Jose Maria del Nido and sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo (aka Monchi) to negotiate directly with Spurs chief executive Daniel Levy. Spurs had wanted more than £10m, but Zokora had made it clear he wanted to leave White Hart Lane for Champions League football with Sevilla. A statement on Spurs' website confirmed his departure after three years at White Hart Lane. It read: "We have reached agreement for the transfer of Didier Zokora to Sevilla. "The Ivory Coast international joined us from St Etienne in July 2006 and went on to make 134 appearances for the club, including beingpart of the League Cup-winning side of 2008. "We thank Didier for his contribution and wish him every success for the future." Harry Redknapp will now have funds to help in the pursuit of his many targets. Sevilla were delighted to finally get their man and Monchi said: 'Zokora was our primary target for this year. Closing the deal has not been done without making a major effort, but we think the player deserves it.'
