are set to sign Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma with Jermaine Jenas heading in the opposite direction.

Portugal international Quaresma will arrive at White Hart Lane on loan and England international Jenas will spend the rest of the campaign at the San Siro, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Italian job: Jenas

London calling: Quaresma

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admitted he has been keeping tabs on Jenas since taking over Serie A leaders Inter.

He said: 'I never worked with him (Jenas) but he is a player I have followed. When he was at Tottenham, even when he was at Newcastle, he was a player that I liked very much.'

Mourinho has left 25-year-old Quaresma out of his updated Champions League squad, with the Italian champions set to face Manchester United in the first knock-out round on February 24.

The former Porto player has not met expectation since signing from Porto for £15m on the last deadline day, September 1, and Mourinho said: 'I am disappointed with him.

'He is a player that I wanted in Milan but unfortunately, he has not been able to overcome the criticism directed at him. Without confidence in oneself it becomes more difficult.'

Argentinian striker Hernan Crespo has yet again failed to make the Champions League squad, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Julio Cruz and Adriano grabbing Inter's attacking places.
