Toulouse were widely reported in France to want around £25 million for Sissoko, who has recently been called up to the France squad. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp had looked at Sissoko as well as Patrick Vieira to bolster his midfield and also asked Real Madrid about Lassana Diarra, who has seen Xabi Alonso's arrival add to the competition at the Bernabeu. "I would like to play one day in England," Sissoko said. "It is the league that I appreciate the most and which suits my game the best. But I am in no hurry to leave. I have nothing against staying a year longer at Toulouse." Meanwhile, Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes claims plenty of clubs are interested in him, even though he is happy at White Hart Lane. "I think I had a very good second half to last season, but the club decides my future, I don't decide these things," he said in the Tottenham Journal. "When Tottenham don't need me, many clubs want me. They call me all the time but I want to stay here."
