Spurs beat West Ham to sign former Chelsea striker Gudjohnsen on loan

Tottenham appear to have won the race to sign Eidur Gudjohnsen on loan for the season. The 31-year-old Iceland star is expected to sign on Thursday following a medical. [LNB]Monaco forward Gudjohnsen looked set to sign for West Ham until Spurs stepped in late on Tuesday. [LNB]The French club are willing to pay most of his £2.5million salary after Gudjohnsen fell out with head coach Guy Lacombe.
