Spurs announce £20m shirt deal

Tottenham have announced a new £20million shirt sponsorship deal with leading software infrastructure company Autonomy.[LNB] Spurs could double their income further by landing a similar deal for the club's cup games.[LNB]In an innovative move by the north London club, Spurs will wear shirts with different sponsors for their Premier League games and for cup matches.[LNB]The two-year deal with Autonomy, a global leader in infrastructure software for enterprise, is for Premier League matches and worth around £20million over the period.[LNB]Spurs are still searching for a shirt sponsor for their cup competitions but Autonomy have become only the fifth brand ever to appear on the club's shirt.[LNB]A FTSE 100 listed company, Autonomy is the UK's largest, pure software company, with over 20,000 global customers and offices worldwide.[LNB]"We are delighted to have Autonomy as our new global partner," said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.[LNB]The move to split the shirt sponsorship between league matches and cup competitions is understood to have been Levy's idea and the club are now in discussions with several brands as they search for a single sponsor for shirts worn in the FA Cup, League Cup and European competitions.[LNB]The new Autonomy-sponsored shirts will be worn for the first time during Tottenham's USA Tour when they play San Jose Earthquakes on July 17.
