Spartak eye Pav return

Spartak Moscow are keen on re-signing Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko but have limited their budget to £10million. The Russia international has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane and fears a lack of first-team football could lead to him missing out on the 2010 World Cup. Although Spartak are keen on bringing the 27-year-old back to the Luzhniki Stadium, coach Valery Karpin realises a potential transfer could be scuppered by insufficient funds. "We need a good striker," he said. "It's a bit too much. If the price was £10million we would seriously consider it." Roma and Zenit St Petersburg are also reportedly interested in the securing Pavlyuchenko's signature. Meanwhile, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp may still make some moves in the transfer market before the window closes. Brazilian side Internacional claim they have rejected a bid from Tottenham for midfielder Sandro, while Redknapp could possibly be lining up a replacement for Pavlyuchenko if the Russian does depart.
