Scott Sutter is playing for Switzerland but says it'd be wrong for Mikel Arteta to play for England

Englishman Scott Sutter - a member of the Switzerland squad - believes it would be wrong for Mikel Arteta to make a similar move by turning out for the Three Lions. [LNB]Sutter, 24, was born in north London, supported Tottenham while growing up and cheered on England at the World Cup thinks Fabio Capello should resist the urge to call up the Spaniard.[LNB]Tight-lipped: Sutter has admitted he doesn't know the words to the Swiss national anthem[LNB]The full-back who is fighting for a starting place in Tuesday night's Euro 2012 qualifier said: 'It's slightly different because England are such a proud nation and it would be a massive thing for the country.[LNB]'I supported England during the World Cup. I watched Switzerland beat Spain on TV but it was England who I was really cheering on. The Germany game was hard to watch but the Germans were brilliant that day.[LNB]'There is not much difference between the major footballing countries and the rest these days and we want to prove that again. If somebody asked I would say I am English and Swiss.[LNB]'If you look at the Swiss squad, 80 per cent of us could play for a second country. There are definitely 10 of us in this squad who could play for another country but that is not considered strange and nobody really debates it.[LNB]'It all began in England when the FA first appointed a foreign coach and that was a massive thing. But plenty of other countries do that and it's not really a big deal.[LNB]'In Switzerland people genuinely don't care if the players are halfEnglish, Italian, Turkish or anything else as long as the team arewinning.[LNB] Dream come true: Sutter in action against Spurs - the team he supported as a boy[LNB]'I wouldn't have a big problem with Arteta playing for England but I can see it's different for England than it is for Switzerland.[LNB]'Also, you have to remember most of the Swiss players either grew up in the country, were coached from an early age in the country or have Swiss family. Arteta doesn't have any of those links to England or English football.'[LNB]Sutter failed to make the grade in English football and after spells at Millwall, Charlton and Aston Villa he signed for Grasshoppers Zurich as a 16-year-old.[LNB]And he has admitted he knows the words to God Save the Queen but can't sing the Swiss national anthem.[LNB]He said: 'England would be my first competitive cap for Switzerland. It's strange it has fallen like this if I play but I'm really looking forward to the whole occasion.[LNB]'I won't sing the Swiss national anthem tomorrow night, mainly because I don't know it properly. I think I could probably sing half of it but after that I wouldn't really have a clue.'[LNB] Wayne Rooney jets out to Switzerland as Fabio Capello gambles on striker's mind setChelsea boss Ancelotti tells England fans: You should respect Capello!Wayne Rooney now on his knees: Scandal threatens England's new dawnTottenham draw is dreamy for Scott Stutter as Young Boys star prepares to face boyhood club[LNB]
