Striker Louis Saha has left Everton to join Tottenham, the Toffees have confirmed.

The 33-year-old had six months remaining on his current deal but has been allowed to move to White Hart Lane after making 20 appearances this season, scoring just twice.

"Striker Louis Saha has left Everton to join Tottenham Hotspur," said a statement on evertonfc.com.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp also revealed that he could add Blackburn defender Ryan Nelsen to his squad.

Nelsen would replace fellow centre-back Sebastien Bassong, who has long stated his desire to leave Spurs and was left out of the club's 3-1 win over Wigan on Tuesday night.

The Spurs boss revealed the centre-half was the subject of a bid from Wolves before Tuesday night's 11pm transfer deadline and hopes to replace him by completing the shock signing of veteran Nelsen from Ewood Park.

Redknapp said: "Bassong could maybe go on loan to Wolves. I think that's going to happen.

"We just need to see whether I can take another central defender because I've got William Gallas out long-term through injury.

"I'm hoping to sign Ryan Nelsen on a free until the end of the season. I think he's a great competitor and a good sort to have at your club. Always liked him.

"Seb needs to go - his head's down."
