Skysports.com understands Blackburn Rovers are considering an approach for Tottenham Hotspur defender Pascal Chimbonda. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Portsmouth after failing to establish himself in the Spurs first team following his January return from Sunderland. Chimbonda has previously claimed he knows nothing of the suggestions he is set to leave White Hart Lane in search of regular football. But it is now reported that the defensively versatile 30-year-old is a target of Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce. The Ewood Park boss has made no secret of the fact that he wants to reinforce his squad and Chimbonda has been identified as the man to increase rearguard options.
