Sunderland have confirmed Danny Rose has joined the club from Tottenham on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old joined Spurs in 2007 from Leeds and has gone onto become a member of their first-team squad. Rose made his name as an attacking player but has subsequently been deployed as a left-back. He will go straight into the squad for their game against Swansea City on Saturday when he could make his debut. Rose has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Kieran Richardson who joined Fulham earlier on Friday morning. The England Under 21 international has made 29 appearances for Spurs and has had loan spells with Watford, Peterborough United and Bristol City.
