Rose praise for Rodgers

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Danny Rose has told skysports.com of his admiration for new Reading manager Brendan Rodgers. He feels that following the resignation of Steve Coppell at the end of last season, the Royals have appointed the best man for the job, and someone who can lead the club forward. Rose spent the latter part of last season on-loan at Championship outfit Watford, under Rogers' tutorage, and he feels the Hornets will have to do very well to replace the man from Northern Ireland, who joined the club from a spell as reserve team boss at Chelsea. "Brendan is a quality manager and if I didn't have Spurs, wherever he went I would want to join him. That's how highly I rate him," Rose told skysports.com. "Now they've lost the manger, it's going to be interesting to see who they can get in. Watford didn't have a great amount of cash when I was there, so I hope they don't have to sell their best players in order to bring new players in. "I sincerely wish them all the best for next season, as I really enjoyed my time there." But Rose admits his main focus is on making his mark at White Hart Lane this coming season. "Right now, I'm thinking solely about preparing for the new campaign and trying to force my way into manager Harry Redknapp's plans at Spurs," he added. "I feel I am more than ready to challenge for a place in the starting line-up and pre-season will go a long way to determining whether that will happen or not. "But I feel confident I have what it takes to impress."
