Danny Rose hopes to persuade Harry Redknapp that he is good enough to oust Benoit Assou-Ekotto as Tottenham's first-choice left-back.[LNB] Rose, who has just returned from ankle and thigh injuries, is expected to be named in Redknapp's starting XI for Thursday evening's Europa League clash with Rubin Kazan, as the Spurs boss looks to rest the majority of his first-team squad for Sunday's game at Blackburn.[LNB]Rose, 21, shot to fame by scoring a 30-yard screamer on his debut against Arsenal, but he has since been restricted to a handful of starts due to a lack of form and fitness.[LNB]The former Leeds trainee started his career as a winger, but was successfully deployed at left-back for the final four games of last season after Assou-Ekotto suffered a hamstring injury.[LNB]The Cameroon defender is one of Redknapp's favourite players at Spurs, but Rose hopes to dislodge the 27-year-old with a good run in the Europa League.[LNB]Rose said: "My ultimate aim is to be in the starting XI on a Saturday.[LNB]"I got in the team for the last four games of last season and did well.[LNB]"I started all right in pre-season and was unlucky to get the injury.[LNB]"That has set me back a bit, but I want to be in the starting line-up on a Saturday.[LNB]"The way I train I think I deserve to be in and around it. I hope to do well (against Rubin Kazan) and get some positive feedback."[LNB]Rose spent part of last season on loan at npower Championship side Bristol City - the third loan spell of his career.[LNB]After being told by Redknapp that he could develop in to a top-class left back at Tottenham, the England Under-21 international admits he would not consider dropping down a division in January and would only consider leaving the club on a temporary basis to go to a fellow top-flight club.[LNB]"If I was going to go out on loan I would want it to be in the Premier League," he said.[LNB]"I wouldn't want to go back to the Championship again.[LNB]"I hope I do well in the games I'm involved in to make a Premier League loan move in January if I'm not playing here.[LNB]"I'm at the age now where I need to be playing regularly.[LNB]"When I go away with the England Under-21s it's difficult to hear the rest of the guys talking about playing every week.[LNB]"It's not the same for me.[LNB]"I don't see it as make or break but I do need to be playing every week."
