Roma are preparing an £8.7million move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko after being priced out of a move for Sevilla hit man Luis Fabiano. The Serie A club are keen to strengthen their attack but were quoted prices of more than double for Brazil striker Fabiano, who has previously interested Chelsea. Roma boss Luciano Spalletti will instead turn to Pavlyuchenko, according to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, who scored 14 goals but was largely viewed as a disappointment in his first season at White Hart Lane.
