Out of favour: Roman Pavlyuchenko[LNB]Guus Hiddink has warned that Roman Pavlyuchenko's lack of match practice means he can only expect a bit-part role in Russia's World Cup play-off against Slovenia later this month.[LNB]Hiddink considered leaving the Tottenham Hotspur outcast out of his plans for the two-leg crunch match and warned that Pavlyuchenko must start playing first-team football.[LNB]The 27-year-old has already expressed concern that his failure to get a start at Spurs will threaten his chances of making the World Cup next summer and is weighing up whether to seek a transfer in January.[LNB]Hiddink said: 'I'm seriously concerned about his position at Tottenham and perhaps he should think about how he can get more playing time.[LNB]'But despite all his problems with match practice, Roman has special qualities: in almost every match he has one or two chances to score, and he often takes them. [LNB]'Therefore, we shouldn't exclude him from the national team completely. If the match against Slovenia is not going our way, Pavlyuchenko should get his chance.'[LNB] Russia hero: Pavlyuchenko celebrates scoring against Azerbaijan[LNB]The former Chelsea boss watched Pavlyuchenko in training with his club last week and had the chance to quiz Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.[LNB]'Redknapp admits that Roma have talent,' said Hiddink. 'But he needs to work to see this talent. At Tottenham, Pavlyuchenko has very serious competitors: Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch. [LNB]'Of course, it's not of my business to determine what Pavlyuchenko should do in the future. Maybe he still has a place at Tottenham, but I certainly would like him to play more often.'[LNB]West Ham United, Birmingham City and AC Milan have been linked with moves for Pavlyuchenko this winter, while Zenit St Petersburg and his former club Spartak Moscow would definitely be interested if the price is right.[LNB]Redknapp admits he would rather have three top class strikers than four and is prepared to listen to offers for Pavlyuchenko.[LNB]'If he does not get into the team on a regular basis, which is hard for him at the moment, then there is every chance he will want to move in January,' the Tottenham boss told the London Evening Standard.[LNB] Pavlyuchenko and Cassano at top of Zola's West Ham United shopping listCrocked Chelsea star Zhirkov handed Russia call-up for vital Slovenia play-offBent warned to be careful with his Twittering ahead of Tottenham clashTottenham are top of the league!
