Riesgo eyes Spurs deal after Spanish keeper impresses Redknapp on trial

Real Sociedad goalkeeper Asier Riesgo is hoping a deal can now be struck for him to join Tottenham after he seemingly impressed during his trial with the Barclays Premier League club.  

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp took a look at the 26-year-old Riesgo as he seeks cover for first-choice custodian Heurelho Gomes after back-up Carlo Cudicini suffered injuries to his pelvis and wrists in a motorcycle accident that could rule him out of the rest of the campaign or beyond.

'It's a nice opportunity. I would go to a great club and a change of air would be good for me. I have to look out for my interests,' Riesgo was quoted as saying in newspaper Diario Vasco on his return to Sociedad today (Tuesday). 

'The coach told me that he was happy with the time that I spent there. Now the clubs have to find a financial agreement. I think that it's a positive operation for all.'
