Redknapp's relief over semi win

Harry Redknapp feels Tottenham Hotspur would have been in 'desperate trouble', if they had lost to Burnley in the Carling Cup semi-finals. Spurs face Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1 & HD1, as they look to successfully defend the trophy won against Chelsea 12 months ago. However, the holders survived a major scare to set up a date with United after throwing away a 4-1 lead in the semi-finals against Burnley. Despite an emphatic victory at home in the first leg, Spurs were staring at elimination on away goals after Burnley scored three times in the return at Turf Moor. Late goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermain Defoe saw Spurs through, but Redknapp admits defeat could have seriously affected the club's chances of Premier League survival. "It would certainly have made it very, very difficult for us to have lifted ourselves," said Redknapp. "The shame of it all, of being 4-1 up and going out the competition. "That was as angry as I have been since I have been here. I was very, very low. Imagine how low we would have been if we had gone out. "If we had gone out we would have been in desperate trouble because I don't know how we would have recovered from that." Meanwhile, Spurs supporters attending the final at Wembley on Sunday will find a flag on each one of their seats as part of the club's support for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. The Foundation aims to create opportunities that change lives for people in the community, and the Foundation's "Wave the Flag" Wembley initiative aims to create a spectacle in support of the Foundation and Tottenham Hotspur in the final.
