Redknapp upbeat over Crouch deal
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is hopeful of completing a deal to bring Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch to White Hart Lane.
Pompey manager Paul Hart has suggested a fee has been agreed with Spurs but Redknapp feels there is still negotiating to be done and is not including the 28-year-old in his plans for this week's trip to Beijing for the Premier League Asia Trophy.
"(Spurs chairman) Daniel (Levy) is talking to (Pompey chief executive) Peter Storrie and the pair are very good negotiators," said Redknapp on Sky Sports.
"Portsmouth have a price they want but myself and Daniel have spoken and we have a price we think is fair. Hopefully a compromise will happen and we'll get something done."
Crouch's arrival would put a question mark over the future of Darren Bent, who started against Celtic in the Wembley Cup pre-season friendly.
Bent was Spurs' top scorer last season but was out of favour at times and has attracted the interest of Sunderland.
Redknapp also has an interest in Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira.
"They are two players we've been interested in," he added. "We've spoken to Real Madrid about Huntelaar.
"I spoke with Patrick's agent about playing for Tottenham. We'll have to wait and see."
