Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has thanked the people who have wished him well in his recovery from the heart procedure he underwent this week.
Redknapp is recovering at home after having two stents inserted to unblock two coronary arteries on Wednesday. The 64-year-old was admitted to hospital on Tuesday night after feeling out of breath when running and he missed the club's Europa League Group A game at Rubin Kazan on Thursday night as a result.
The former West Ham manager is in good spirits after undergoing the procedure and he told Tottenham's website: "I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes. There are so many lovely people out there and I really appreciate it."
Redknapp watched Spurs lose to Rubin from his home in Dorset and he will now take two weeks off to recover.
Redknapp had claimed before the operation that he would be back at work on Saturday to prepare for Sunday's game at Fulham, but he has heeded the advice of his doctors and it is understood that he will watch the game at Craven Cottage from home.
The former Portsmouth manager, who travels 125 miles from Dorset to the club's training base in Chigwell for training, insists he will continue to take their advice on board and not rush back.
"I am feeling a bit better and as soon as I am ready I will be back," he added.
"I'll take it easy for now and do what the doctor tells me. If I do that then I won't have a problem."
