Redknapp slams review system
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has branded the rules which deny clubs the chance to appeal against players sent off for two bookings as "crazy".
FIFA, the world governing body of the game, do not allow reviews of yellow cards, meaning Spurs could not ask the Football Association to look at Wilson Palacios' dismissal against Blackburn last week.
Redknapp was furious with referee Peter Walton for sending off Palacios, who will miss this weekend's clash against West Ham at White Hart Lane as a result.
"It's a flawed system that you cannot appeal against a yellow card and get it rescinded if it was blatantly wrong," Redknapp said.
"The same thing happened last weekend to Glen Johnson at Portsmouth."It's crazy really, they surely could look at that and say it was a wrong decision.
He hasn't made contact with the player so it shouldn't count."Palacios will be missing for Spurs when they look to keep alive their hopes of reaching the Europa League next season.
Their opponents on Saturday are in pole position for seventh place in the Premier League at the moment, which should be enough to reach the revamped version of the UEFA Cup.
"I think the only target we need to set ourselves is to win as many games as we can before the end of the season and see what position that takes us to," said Spurs full-back Vedran Corluka.
"There are many teams still fighting for seventh place and we are one of them, so it will be difficult to achieve that.
"After the start we had to this season, finishing in the top half will be an achievement, so let's just take it a game at a time and see where that takes us. Hopefully we can finish the season strongly."
Meanwhile, Redknapp believes there will be plenty of interest in Fraizer Campbell if Manchester United make the striker available in the summer.
Campbell has been on loan at Spurs this season but has found his chances limited, and when he returns to Old Trafford he will compete with Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez for a starting place, with Federico Macheda also recently in the limelight.
"He belongs to Manchester United and I'm sure Sir Alex Ferguson will want him back," Redknapp said.
"It's up to Alex, he is their player. If they decide they want to sell him he would be an interesting player for anybody."
Campbell has been behind Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent in the Spurs pecking order.
"He's been unlucky, he's never let us down and has done excellently whenever he has played," Redknapp said.
"It has been a great learning experience for him.
"He has a great attitude and has a terrific future. It's just unfortunate he has not been in the side on a regular basis."
