Redknapp rewarded for attacking system

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham's 4-1 victory over FC Twente vindicated his team selection for the Champions League clash at White Hart Lane. Two penalties from Roman Pavlyuchenko and superb goals from Rafael van der Vaart, who was also sent off, and Gareth Bale enabled Spurs to seize second place in Group A behind leaders Inter Milan. But the scoreline failed to do Twente justice as the Dutch champions frequently proved a handful and were harshly treated on at least one of the three spot-kicks awarded against them. Nacer Chadli reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 56th minute and there were times when Spurs looked like they might pay the price for fielding an adventurous line-up. "We picked an open team who went for it," said Redknapp. "We could have played with one up with Van der Vaart behind, but went for it and got four goals. It was a fantastic result. We won 4-1 so I picked the right team. It's not a problem. "You pick different teams for different games. I felt we'd take a chance but there are certain games where you wouldn't do that. It was a great night for us. It was a great atmosphere and we won the game 4-1. You can't do much more than that."
