Redknapp refuses to go easy on Pav, telling Spurs striker to work harder

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is calling on in-form striker Roman Pavlyuchenko to work harder.   [LNB]The Russia striker has scored five goals in his last three matches to improve his chances of getting regular action with the White Hart Lane club.   [LNB]However, Redknapp said: It's been a pretty special time for the lad but it's no good saying he's done it after a decent little spell. A few good games don't make a season. He has to keep performing for Spurs.   [LNB] Point to prove: Pavlyuchenko is back among the goals for Spurs[LNB]'Pav has struggled to establish himself at Tottenham but this is a great chance for him to have positive influence on what could be a fantastic season at Spurs.   [LNB]'He needs to work harder to utilise his undoubted talent. Technically he is a very gifted player.'[LNB]Pavlyuchenko, 28, came off the bench to score in the FA Cup fourth round defeat of Leeds and repeated the feat with a double in the 3-0 Barclays Premier League win at Wigan last weekend.   [LNB]He started Wednesday's FA Cup fifth round replay match against Bolton, and responded with two goals in the 4-0 success.   [LNB]  But Redknapp said in his column in The Sun: 'I'm lucky I also have Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Eidur Gudjohnsen and all will have important parts to play.  [LNB] 'In the transfer window there were clubs interested in taking Pav. Birmingham were the only Premier League club but there were a few in Russia - the player's preferred choice of destination if we let him go - and elsewhere.   [LNB]'But I went in with our chairman, Daniel Levy, discussed the offers and we both felt we wanted him to stay. Particularly as Robbie Keane was heading to Celtic.   [LNB]'Pav has come in, scored and he is sky-high right now. We play Everton on Sunday and it would be very difficult not to start him now.   [LNB]'When someone is scoring goals you don't notice their work-rate so much - but it is an area has needs to improve, without a doubt.'[LNB] Tottenham 4 Bolton 0: Pavlyuchenko's on fire as Russian rescues SpursPavlyuchenko's lack of English makes it hard to deal with him, admits RedknappHamstrung Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe doubtful for Everton clashKranjcar: Spurs can win FA Cup and repeat greatest day of my lifeWigan 0: Tottenham 3: Pavlyuchenko conquers as Spurs go fourthTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
