Redknapp must find own funds

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that he must sell before he can buy this summer. The Spurs chief is keen to bring in fresh faces as he attempts to mount a top-four challenge in the Premier League next season. However, money is tight at White Hart Lane and the club's board will not give Redknapp free range in the transfer market. That means he must first trim his playing staff, helping to bring in extra funds and slash the wage bill, before he can turn his attention to new recruits. "We have spent all our money already in keeping the club in the Premier League," said Redknapp. "We saw against Liverpool (during a 3-1 defeat on Sunday) that we are a little short because we had some key players missing. "We would like to add some players in the summer and I have some targets, but I will have to raise the money to go after them. "We will have to wheel and deal because we used what money there was to bring in (Robbie) Keane and (Wilson) Palacios to keep us in this league."
