Redknapp gives up on Young

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he has given up his pursuit of Aston Villa winger Ashley Young.[LNB] The 24-year-old, who earned the PFA Young Player of the Year award for his performances last season, was high on Redknapp's wish list but the Spurs manager is unlikely to get his man.[LNB]Redknapp was keen to sign Young to solve his side's problems on the left flank, and was disappointed to find that Martin O'Neill is unwilling to let his prized asset leave.[LNB]"Everybody would like to have him but I don't think there is a chance we would get him," said Redknapp.[LNB]Fantastic[LNB]"He's a fantastic player and Aston Villa do not want to sell him, I don't think he's available."[LNB]The Spurs boss is also rumoured to be interested in Celtic midfielder Scott Brown, although no new arrivals are expected at White Hart Lane before next weekend's Premier League opener against Liverpool.[LNB]Redknapp, speaking after Tottenham's 3-0 friendly win over Olympiakos, also admitted that he has a selection headache upfront ahead of the start of the season.[LNB]He said: "The strikers are going to be key. We have four terrific strikers, they are all very good so there will be competition for places, whoever plays.[LNB]"We have four strikers so we are more than well off. It will be a difficult one."[LNB]
