Harry Redknapp insists he will not let talk of him becoming the next England manager derail his attempt to get Tottenham back in to the Champions League.
Redknapp is the bookmakers' favourite to succeed Fabio Capello when he stands down as England boss next summer having transformed Spurs from relegation contenders to Champions League quarter-finalists since taking over at White Hart Lane in October 2008.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy revealed on Tuesday that Redknapp had given him assurances that he was not "at this present time" thinking about replacing Capello, and the 64-year-old confirmed this, replying when asked where he stood on the prospect of the job: "Nowhere really. I just have a job to do here."
He added: "I just have to get on with my job. That's all I can do.
"I don't know what will happen at the end of the season, if anything does.
"I don't look that far ahead really. I am not a person who thinks about next year or the year after, (if you do that) you start wishing your life away.
"I am only looking at what I am doing now. I have to keep focused on Tottenham.
"The only thing that enters my mind is getting them back in the Champions League."
Calls for the 64-year-old to replace Capello have only been heightened by his success at Spurs this year, where he has led the club to fourth in the Barclays Premier League after an 11-match unbeaten run that finally came to an end at Stoke on Sunday.
