Redknapp admits it will be hard to attract top class keeper to Tottenham
Smash: Cudicini fractured both wrists in a motorcycle accident in November[LNB]Harry Redknapp says he faces an uphill battle in finding a suitable replacement for Carlo Cudicini, the Tottenham goalkeeper sidelined for the remainder of the season after a motorcycle accident.[LNB]Italian Cudicini has been understudy to Heurelho Gomes since moving to White Hart Lane from Chelsea in January but suffered fractures to both wrists and received pelvic damage in a collision last month.[LNB]Despite an unsteady start to his own time in north London after moving to Spurs from PSV in 2008, Gomes has become a vital component in the team's resurgence under Redknapp. [LNB]And is manager believes any reinforcement will have little chance of usurping the Brazilian as the club's No 1, making attracting a top class stopper a tough task.[LNB]Tottenham have been linked with Watford's England Under-21 keeper Scott Loach as well as David James and Ben Foster.[LNB] Safe hands: Gomes (ground) has come along way from the error-strewn stopper that first arrived at White Hart Lane[LNB]'People have talked about James and Foster but they are going to want to play and Gomes has been brilliant this season,' said Redknapp, who was keen to sign James from Portsmouth last summer. 'It is a difficult situation because if Gomes gets injured, we need someone who can come in and do the job.
