Derby County have agreed a deal to bring in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jake Livermore on loan, while Robbie Savage is set to sign a new contract. Livermore is heading to Pride Park on an initial month-long deal with a view to staying with the Championship club until January. He recently signed a new two-year deal at Spurs and also scored against Barcelona in the Wembley Cup last month. Rams boss Nigel Clough is looking forward to having the youngster in his squad and believes he will provide valuable cover. Ideal replacement"He is very similar to Paul Green and Stephen Pearson," Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph. "He bombs forward, so in the formation we have got at the moment with three midfielders, he is an ideal replacement should either of those two go down injured. "If he had been on the substitutes' bench against Peterborough United on Saturday, he would have been straight on for Greenie, who had to come off with a foot injury." Meanwhile, Clough confirmed veteran midfielder Savage is set to sign a new contract to stay at Derby until 2011. He added: "It is about where Robbie wants to play football and it is lovely he wants to stay with us. We are delighted."
