Ramos warned Spurs of risks
Former Tottenham boss Juande Ramos claims he advised the club not to sell their prized assets last summer.[LNB] The Spaniard, who was removed from his post at White Hart Lane in October 2008, endured a turbulent time in England.[LNB]He saw key men like Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane sold against his will, while he was allowed no time in which to find adequate replacements.[LNB]His role became increasingly untenable and it came as no surprise when he was relieved of his duties following a disappointing start to the season.[LNB]Not surprisedRamos, now in charge at Real Madrid, insists his job was made all the more difficult by an unsupportive board and he is not surprised to have seen Spurs attempt to right their wrongs by re-signing the likes of Keane, Jermain Defoe and Pascal Chimbonda in recent weeks.[LNB]Ramos told The People: "I'd never have authorised the decision to sell Keane and Berbatov and not replace them with players of similar calibre.[LNB]"It was too risky but they paid no attention to me and things turned out badly. That is where my problems at Spurs started.[LNB]"Now they have rectified things with the return of Robbie, Chimbonda and Defoe. It has surprised me but it was the normal thing to do to avoid the drop."[LNB]
