Pulis still backing Spurs

Stoke manager Tony Pulis believes Tottenham can still turn around their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid despite their mauling in Tuesday's first leg. Spurs have been left with a mountain to climb to reach the last four of the competition after going down 4-0 at the Bernabeu, but Pulis feels anything could happen in next Wednesday's return encounter at White Hart Lane if Harry Redknapp's team make a flying start. "Harry will be absolutely devastated because he would have been going there hoping to get close and bring them back to White Hart Lane with a chance," Pulis said. "I think that circumstances on the pitch have changed that and he will need a monumental effort now from his players and the supporters. "But it is an old-fashioned ground, a fantastic ground to play at with a fantastic atmosphere, and you never know. "If they get a couple of goals early on, things could conspire their way and Harry will make sure they are at it without a question of a doubt."
