Premier League: All January 2015 games ranked by the numbers

02 February 2015 11:28

It's the first monthly Premier League match ratings of 2015 and they certainly come in with a bang.

One match stands out above all others, so you’ll probably be able to guess what’s number one, but how did the rest of January’s top-flight games fare in our rankings?

Here we go then - a reminder: matches are scored out of 100 by reporters at the games, with, in classic Football Manager style, 60 as about average.

38. Everton 0 West Brom 0 (19/1/15)

Score: 28

Everton's Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas talk before the latter misses a penalty against West Brom
“And you’re absolutely sure you’re not going to miss…?” (Peter Byrne/PA)

This match will forever be remembered as the one where Kevin Mirallas took a penalty ahead of Leighton Baines – and was branded “despicable” by Gary Neville for doing so – but in truth it doesn’t deserve to be remembered at all. It was terrible.

37. Aston Villa 0 Crystal Palace 0 (1/1/15)

Score: 35

Alan Pardew in the stands at Crystal Palace
You can say what you like about Alan Pardew, but that’s an excellent scarf (Nick Potts/PA)

New Palace boss-in-waiting Alan Pardew was watching from the stands, but probably wished he wasn’t. The highlight was Yannick Bolasie hitting the bar. Dour stuff.
