Tottenham, West Ham and Hull City are to take part in the Asia Trophy in Beijing next month. Beijing Guoan, one of China's top teams, join the Premier League trio in the pre-season tournament. Tottenham will face West Ham on 29th July and the winners will then meet either Hull or the host side in the final two days later. The Workers Stadium, which was used for the Olympics last year, will stage all the matches. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is looking forward to the event after steering Portsmouth to victory in the 2007 edition in Hong Kong. "It is a great opportunity for fans from China to get to come and watch their favourite players in action," said Redknapp. "I really enjoyed the last time I was involved in the competition with Portsmouth two years ago in Hong Kong. "It was a great few days in terms of preparation for the new season and I was really impressed with everything." Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore has also emphasised the importance of helping the game grow in China. "The development of the game in China is critical to football's future as the world's sport of choice," Scudamore explained.
