There has been no trace of Edwin Rene Palacios since armedassailants abducted him from his home in October 2007. He was 16 at thetime. Police say the family paid a ransom of $500,000, but the teenagerwas not released.

Edwin Rene Palacios played on the reserve squad of Honduran first-division team Olimpia.
Osorio said 50 police armed with shovels and other excavating tools unearthed the body after four days of digging in a mountain area about 250 kilometers north of the Honduran capital. He said the body was found two meters underground wearing shoes and sports clothing.
Osorio said two imprisoned gang members, leaders of a gang called "18," led police to the burial site. He said two men had confessed to the killing. He identified them as Alexander Reyes and Elmer Orellana.
"The forensic doctors working in the public prosecutors office will analyze the remains and we don't know how long the process will take," Osorio said.
