Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's father has confirmed the St Etienne forward is the subject of plenty of interest - but favours a move to Monaco. The 23-year-old Gabon international, who scored an impressive 19 goals in Ligue 1 last term, has been linked with the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Anzhi Makhachkala in the off-season. And Aubameyang senior, who also acts as the striker's agent, says that while talks over a potential switch to the Bundesliga will continue, he would prefer for his son to join a club of Monaco's ambition and stature. He told RTL: "Much of the Germany talk is true, but proposals come from everywhere. "I believe that we will be able to continue the discussions." Aubameyang will be no stranger to the surrounds at Monaco, having spent six months at Stade Louis II during the 2010/11 campaign. When asked about a possible return to Les Rouge et Blanc for his son, Aubameyang senior added: "Monaco? If they come see or see me directly, it is clear that there will be an exchange with them. "When you see the Monaco project, [it can be seen that] this will be a serious competitor of PSG. "This kind of club will be successful in a year or two. That is what I am now looking for my son." France-born Aubameyang, who has represented the Gabon national side 29 times, started his career with AC Milan before sealing a switch to St Etienne in December 2011. He also spent time on loan with Dijon, Lille and Les Verts before clinching a permanent move to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
