Steven Pienaar is hoping to put his injury woes behind him and push on at Tottenham when the new season gets under way. [LNB] The midfielder arrived at White Hart Lane from Everton in January but could only manage 11 appearances for Spurs as fitness problems frustrated his start to life in North London. [LNB]Pienaar was included in the party that travelled out to his native South Africa on Wednesday for Tottenham's pre-season tour. [LNB]And the 29-year-old is aiming to get some playing time under his belt as he strives to be fully fit for the opening day of the season, when he could go up against former club Everton for the first time. [LNB]"I'm definitely looking forward," Pienaar told Sky Sports News. "I had a lot of ups and downs in the first few months with injuries. [LNB]"Hopefully I can put it behind me and go on and see what will happen this season."[LNB]He added: "I'm still working on my fitness. I'm almost there. [LNB]"Hopefully I'll get a game and see how it goes."[LNB]Tottenham have repeatedly stressed that they intend to keep their key players at the club this summer, despite the ongoing speculation surrounding the future of midfield ace Luka Modric. [LNB]While Pienaar refused to comment on the transfer saga currently surrounding his team-mate, the South African echoed manager Harry Redknapp's sentiment that the team must stay together. [LNB]He said: "Of course you always look for strength in a team and for us it's important that we all stick together as a team and make the most of it."
