Scott Parker nominated for PFA Players' Player of the Year Award 2012

Scott Parker became a Tottenham Hotspur player on August 31st 2011 after transferring from West Ham after a hard season that saw West Ham relegated from the Premier League.

Following his performances for both West Ham and earning his England recall, Parker was selected on the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year Award. He missed out on the PFA award but was named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

Parker made his debut for Tottenham on September 10th and provided an assist for Emmanuel Adebayor. His home debut came the following week in Tottenham's 4-0 win over Liverpool.

He captained the squad against Blackburn on October 23 and as of the Bolton Wanderers game on December 3rd.

Parker earnt praise from American journalist William Saletan who wrote "Parker doesn't score or get credited with assists. He leaves that to the guys up front".

On November 12th 2011, Parker was named man of the match in a friendly against World Cup winners Spain in the 1–0 win.

On 29 February 2012 Scott Parker was made England Captain by caretaker manager Stuart Pearce in their 2–3 defeat at the hands of the Netherlands.
